About this artwork
Limestone rocks and Red Mangrove trees in Biscayne Bay near Miami, Florida. In crafting this piece, I sought to capture the timeless dance of nature, using sepia tones and a soft focus to create an ethereal, dream-like visage of the sea's gentle embrace of the rocks. This photograph is a gateway to tranquility, inviting viewers to pause and immerse themselves in the soothing whispers of the ocean. It's an homage to the serene, enduring beauty that… flourishes in the quiet corners of our world.
This image was captured on film with a plastic toy camera with the lens removes and therefore making it a pinhole camera. A pinhole camera has no lens, no viewfinder, and no electronics.
The image is digitally printed on high quality archival luster paper with archival pigment ink. Prints are made to order and shipped rolled up in a generally oversized tube
I love working with one of my vintage cameras. My cameras range in age from 85 to 45 years old and in film formats from 2 1/4 × 2 1/4 inch to 8 × 10 inch. I also love working with alternative processes, such as pinhole photography. Somebody said once about one of my pinhole Everglades images that the image Really conveys that Everglades look! That was one of the nicest comments I have ever received. Is that not what photographers are going for? That moment that the subject, the viewer, and the photographer all become one?
Over the years, I had several solo and shared shows in The Netherlands and West Palm Beach, FL. Currently, I have work in a permanent gallery inside the Gaylord Hotels and Resorts in Orlando. FL., other nationwide ventures, and private collectors. I am an active board member of the Homestead Center of the Arts.
