About this artwork
The paintings sometimes tell me when they're finished, and this one really did! It's essentially a rehashing of the failed experiment of mixing silver paint on black high-gloss paint wet-on-wet, which didn't work. In desperation, I sprinkled various pigments on the wet paint, which didn't help at first. Then the painting lay around under observation for a while until I resumed the process.
Thus, the colorful eruption in the timeless, deep black… space arises, which no longer leaves the question of meaning open, but answers it. Standing on a mountaintop, I observe the stimulating, raging events with admiration and joy. There is still much more to discover on this journey into the unknown.
