About this artwork
A dynamic spatial structure, created in a single, decisive stroke. The figure lies embedded in a wave-like structure of graphite, a vibrating net that holds and supports it. It does not exist in empty space, but rather in the resonance of the material. A layer of bright red luminous paint, also applied through a falling perforated sheet, combines chance and control – the metal's own weight distributes the paint unevenly, like a brief moment of discharge.…
Graphite and luminous paint form the starting point, upon which highly fluid ink is applied. In this phase, it is important not to think, but to allow the movement to arise from the unconscious. With the coarse paint roller, the structure emerges, forming itself. The flung paint speaks of speed, of energy, of a moment in which matter and gesture become one. The work reminds us that we ourselves are part of such processes – embedded in currents that engulf us.
