About this artwork
A dynamic spatial structure, its form created in one swift movement and at high speed. The figure is embedded in a linear wave structure of graphite, a vibrating net that supports and catches it. It does not exist in empty space, but in the pulse of the material. I applied a layer of red oil paint over it, which not only conveys but is itself drawn into the process. The viscous paint marks the origin, onto which I pour highly fluid ink with a scoop.…
Only a brief moment remains to shape the spatial structure with the broad brush. The crucial thing is to allow the flow, to let go of thought. The ejected paint reveals the energy of creation. In this work, the intention succeeds: movement and stillness are in balance. It reminds us that we are part of perpetual currents whose forces we cannot escape.
