About this artwork
Sometimes I like to work with watercolor. It's completely different from oil and acrylic. When I work figuratively like this, it requires planning and sketching beforehand. I can paint dark on top of something light, but not the other way around, as watercolors are transparent. Once the color is on the paper, I can't remove it.
And since I use a lot of water, it's partly out of my control, but that's the charm of it.
I usually only use three colors,… a blue, a yellow and a red. Here I've used ultramarine, raw sienna and opera rose + black.
