About this artwork
The surreal, colored-pencil drawing depicts a pair of red glasses through which the world appears in pink and red. Mountains, a heart, a mouth, and colors glow in this warm light. Two frames stand side by side—separate, yet on the verge of meeting.
The word "life" winds its way through the image in rainbow colors, while on the other side, the word "fog" appears written backwards. There, a still, gray winter landscape unfolds with sun and fir trees… – beautiful, yet colorless. The work plays with contrasts: life and fog, color and gray, perception and reality – connected through rose-tinted glasses.
Sandra Haase uses standard colored pencils on white cardboard and incorporates her background in personal development into her surreal paintings. She works with colorful, profound, and multi-layered compositions in which dream worlds and reality merge; her style invites individual interpretation. With her works, she aims to convey wisdom, peace, and moments of inner calm, inviting the viewer on an inward journey.
