About this artwork
Impenetrable Zone, Chaco Province, Argentina.
Four helicopters had landed in an open field to refuel, and they would then take us back.
The loud noise of the rotors drew several residents of a very humble area closer: they had never seen such aircraft before.
It was then that I approached a mother with her three children who were gazing in wonder at the scene. I started talking to them and asked if they wanted me to take their picture, to which… they agreed. The mother, a little embarrassed, covered her face. It's a photograph that bears witness to human contrasts.
