About this artwork
I search for distinct lines, but above all, I find the pure emotion of light. At the center, the white of the city's iconic houses is a creamy explosion, a thick and generous paste that I applied with palpable urgency. I see these whites as motionless beacons amidst a tumult of colors.
Around this luminous heart, I perceive deep shadows: violets, midnight blues, and earthy browns, suggesting the contours of the rock and the coolness of the narrow… passageways. I can almost smell the salty air and the scent of ancient stones warmed by the sun. Above, the sky is a pale blue patch, a promise of openness after the intimacy of the alleyways.
I love the way the material itself tells the story of the place: it's not a precise memory, but a living one, where energy and light are the true architecture. I am in Cadaqués, immersed in a chromatic dream.
