About this artwork
The composition is anchored in a subdued palette of smoky greys, ash blacks, and weathered ochres, forming the left and underlying layers that embody the past—faded, distant, and gently eroded by time.
Emerging on the right, the raw crimson and warmer tonal shifts signify the present moment, vivid and emotionally immediate.
Embroidery threads traverse diagonally across these zones, physically piercing the surface to connect what was with what is.… The stitches do not erase separation; instead, they acknowledge fracture while creating continuity.
Here, the thread functions as a quiet mediator—binding past and present into a single, interwoven memory.
Nature, to me, is not merely a subject but an emotional landscape. My work explores fleeting, often overlooked moments where light, texture, and stillness converge to create something deeply felt. Drawn to flowers, leaves, water, and subtle atmospheric shifts, I use acrylics, watercolours, and occasionally cotton threads to build layered compositions rich in emotion and texture. A recurring theme in my practice is the exploration of women and flowers, inspired by everyday scenes of women adorned with flowers in quiet, unguarded moments. Over time, these works have evolved from simple observations into introspective narratives, where the female figure becomes a vessel for memory, silence, emotion, and human connection. Through my work, I seek to create contemplative spaces that invite viewers to pause and reconnect with quiet beauty.
