About this artwork
This photograph explores a transitional interior space within Venice, where architecture, sculpture, light, and reflections create a quiet dialogue between past and present. The dimly illuminated hall opens toward the canal beyond, allowing the outside city to appear almost like a distant fragment framed within the museum interior.
I was drawn to the balance between enclosure and openness — the heavy stone surfaces, sculptural figures, geometric… floor patterns, and softened light gradually dissolving toward water and movement outside. The space feels suspended between contemplation and passage, between the stillness of the interior and the living rhythm of Venice beyond the glass.
Rather than focusing on individual objects, the image explores atmosphere, spatial rhythm, and subtle tonal relationships. My approach remains observational and restrained, preserving the authenticity of the encounter while refining texture, depth, and light.
