About this artwork
This photograph explores the intimate geometry of Venice — narrow canals, weathered facades, balconies, bridges, and reflections quietly woven together through water and light. The curved bridge and its mirrored reflection create a subtle visual rhythm, transforming the ordinary passageway into a more contemplative spatial experience.
I was drawn to the restrained palette of softened greens, brick, stone, and fading plaster, as well as to the delicate… balance between enclosure and openness within the composition. The still water gathers fragments of architecture and atmosphere, allowing the city to appear simultaneously solid and dissolving.
Rather than emphasizing spectacle, my approach remains observational and understated, attentive to texture, proportion, and the quiet coexistence between water, architecture, and daily habitation. Venice reveals itself here through accumulated details and the slow passage of time visible on every surface.
