About this artwork
"Stand Off" is about the moment just before impact—when energy coils tight and time holds its breath. I wanted to capture that electric stillness between two opposing forces, represented by the knights in motion yet frozen, as though suspended in the tension of decision. The figures are grounded in reality, painted with structure and weight, but the world around them dissolves into broad, visceral strokes—chaotic, fluid, emotional.
