About this artwork
An old ginkgo biloba branch, sturdy yet knobbly, stretches like an ancient arm over the lake's fluidity. Its bark is a map of time: mold stains and lichen encrustations seem to grip it, while the golden leaves surrender to autumn, sliding across the water in a slow farewell.
But right there, where nature seems to be asleep, a vibrant life flows. In the clear water, koi carp dance in circles, accompanied by a small family of catfish that sifts the… bottom, waiting for what the old branch has to offer.
As a backdrop to this continuous cycle, a pumpkin and nasturtium garden explodes on the shore, where a cat, camouflaged among the earthy colors, watches us suspiciously. Above, two curious birds peer down from their motionless perch, wondering about this aquatic frenzy that seems oblivious to the impending cold.
