About this artwork
A globe-billed ostrich portrayed as an aristocrat, in silver tones against a deep blue background. Part of the Ascendants and Descendants series, where wildlife ascends to its rightful place: that of memory and sovereignty. Lady Truthi III bears her title with the same dignity with which she gazes from her impossible lineage, reminding us that nature needs no permission to be noble.
Created in a vertical format, its metallic silver glints contrast… with the Prussian blue background and the steel blue of its body. It's one of those pieces that changes with the light of day, that demands a wall where it can breathe and be viewed from different angles.
Sofía Cristina Jiménez primarily uses acrylic on linen, watercolor on Arches paper, and graphite, cultivating her training through artistic research and experimentation in her own studio. She employs a style that oscillates between colorful surrealism and contrasting techniques: free, gestural brushwork combined with meticulous detail, obsessed with volume and light. Her works convey a vibrant emotional universe, where the human and the animal intertwine to evoke fragility, resilience, and a shining hope in the face of life's opposites.
