In the city's tranquility, I wanted to capture this silent dialogue between stone and celestial body. Using my "Sketchy Photography" technique, I patiently sculpted the textures of these monumental statues with a stylus so that they would seem to come alive under the moonlight.
This photograph is not simply an astronomical observation, but a dreamlike staging of heritage. True to my trio of Time, Inspiration, and Work, I worked with contrasts so… that the texture of the sculpture echoes the softness of the night. For Singulart, this limited edition of 10 prints on Alu Dibond lends a mysterious depth to this timeless encounter.
Stéphane Rouillard is a self-taught photographer, passionate about the fusion of digital technology and manual technique, whose artistic education was built on experimentation and observation of urban architecture, particularly in Dijon. He has developed his signature style through digital Neo-Pictorialism with his innovative "Sketchy Photo" technique, a hybrid of photography, drawing, engraving, and graphic arts, oscillating between textured black and white and painterly colors. His works invite sensitive contemplation, revealing the hidden poetry of places and the intimate resonance of light.
