Material Rain
In Material Rain, the silhouette of a ruined castle appears indistinctly in the background. Its colored contours remain deliberately blurred and defy clear interpretation.
The true presence of the image, however, lies in the foreground. There, large, almost angular raindrops dominate, seemingly having lost their liquid nature. Instead of appearing light and translucent, they resemble small pieces of rock or material fragments. The… rain does not appear as an atmospheric event, but as a condensed substance – as "materialized rain." The drops gain weight and physicality, thereby becoming independent actors within the composition.
Material Rain transforms the ephemeral into something tangible, opening up a pictorial space in which even the rain gains weight.
