About this artwork
This butterfly is part of a series of all different butterflies, each made as a rayogram in the dark room, and subsequently printed on cotton paper and colored by hand.
The color settles on the paper giving the effect of the powder of the lepidoptera wings.
The idea is to entice collectors to buy a collection of artist's butterflies. My challenge is to propose a new look on a classic theme. The small creatures move as if to come back to life, black… and white dresses in color.
In my poetics they are the symbol of the transformation of the female soul.
