About this artwork
With Interstice, I continue my exploration of the invisible links that unite forms and beings.
Here, I am interested in what exists between forms, in this silent space where the relationship continues to exist without needing to manifest itself. The geometric elements assemble with simplicity, revealing breaths, voids, and passages.
I sought to refine the composition until it reached a state of clarity, a calm equilibrium where each element seems… to find its natural place. The muted colors and measured contrasts create a feeling of relaxation and openness.
Interstice evokes that moment when we cease to want to hold back or control. A moment of release where forms simply seem to exist.
Stéphanie Bardy works primarily with collage, drawing on a rich background spanning Parisian art schools and experience in children's publishing. Her works are contemporary abstract art, with intuitive, graphic compositions that combine the power of geometric shapes with the vibrancy of bold colors. She cuts, assembles, and superimposes each fragment like a musical score, balancing symmetry and freedom. Her art invites contemplation and a silent, personal dialogue, seeking to make the invisible perceptible, while conveying intense emotions and poetry beyond narrative.
