About this artwork
Last 2020 year changed the approach to his paintings. The surreal time he leaves, plus heavy Flu (Not Corona) and surgery due to dental infection, changed his view of the world. He has become a lot more spiritual, and if that's the reason, he doesn't know, but he is dreaming a lot more. The reflection of dreams is the basis of surrealists, influenced by Freud's philosophy. In his case, he is not sure if his works are surrealistic. THE BUTTERFLY…
DREAM That image popped up in my dreams. Lately, Steven is working on Paintings, which are related to Circus. Lamb thought if he dreams of that Night scene with the violin player and jumping girl, he assumed that could be the dream of a Butterfly, which subconsciously penetrated Steven's Dreams. The dreams are the basis for the surrealists, but Lamb is not sure if his painting is surreal, but he doesn't care. He just paints his visions.

Steven Lamb is an award-winning artist based in Canada whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the United States and Brazil. Creating in a distinctive style which he describes as being both whimsical and grotesque, he views his works as a tool for social commentary, not to criticize, but rather, to amuse and entertain. Lamb takes viewers on a journey through the streets of Montreal and Paris, often portraying café scenes, circuses, musicians, and clowns.
