About this artwork

Going Downtown Montreal, the cinema, or just strolling the city sidewalks allows him the ability to soak in the scenery and observe human interaction and follies of day-to-day life. He shares, “In most of my works, He takes inspiration from the beauty of Old Quebec, its streets, buildings, and people. Walking down the streets is a rich experience providing a wealth of imagery for my work. He was observing that summer scene in Montreal. The day was… beautiful and sunny. He made a photo and created that painting.

Steven Lamb is an award-winning artist based in Canada whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the United States and Brazil. Creating in a distinctive style which he describes as being both whimsical and grotesque, he views his works as a tool for social commentary, not to criticize, but rather, to amuse and entertain. Lamb takes viewers on a journey through the streets of Montreal and Paris, often portraying café scenes, circuses, musicians, and clowns.
