About this artwork
I used oils and acrylic on canvas to produce this artwork. The colours are so joyful and bright that it brings a flutter in my tummy of joy as I 'consume' the richness thereof. As an artist you can create any place that you would liked to be and so I 'visited' the Montmartre without travelling an inch. I became one of the poor artists on the street but with fulfillment in my heart as I just love what I do. Hope this image of my painting will make…
your heart leap with joy as mine did while I was creating it. I include a photo of my friends taking part in a concert which inspired me to add it to my painting.

Suzette Datema, a painter who resides in the United Kingdom, became an artist because of the feeling of excitement that color gives her, as well as the beauty of art and creation. She translates her naive style through compositions that are seaside themed and also paints portraits of women. Datema often covers the canvas with black paint before beginning a piece, as a white surface ‘can seem daunting’. She works using both oils and acrylics.
