About this artwork
Carved and painted bas-relief on a wooden frame.
The palette is dominated by deep grays, but here it is enriched with blueish, green, almost abyssal shades. These touches of color suggest an aquatic or cosmic origin, as if one were diving into the strata of a world in gestation. Light emerges from the depths, like a slow, dark breath.
I don't paint a landscape: I extract its memory. This bas-relief reads like an imprint, a palimpsest of natural… forces—where flow is at once the movement of water, the passage of time, and inner transformation.
It is a work that is both silent and sonorous, where the gaze becomes lost and absorbed.
