About this artwork
In this triptych, vertical cuts and burns open the white surface, revealing a compressed blue, like an animal pushing against the glossy skin of reality. The thin slits and wider openings are stitched together with zip ties, a temporary suture that can always give way, revealing the near impossibility of a complete interaction between neurodivergence and reality.
In the first panel, a second layer of copper hosts the story of the blue cat written… in blue, a tale engraved in memory that remains hidden yet active beneath the work's skin. The second panel, the "belly," holds what is also carnal and therefore perceived as "shameful," while in the third, the tail stands out with its freedom, ideally breaking through attempts at containment.
The copper ribbon edge, transformed into a continuous frame around the three panels, evokes a constant electrical tension.

ThaBlueCat, a self-taught Italian visual artist, combines painting, sculpture and symbolic language in his art. He uses techniques such as expressive divisionism and the use of translucent materials such as blue PETG for his sculptures, often backlit to symbolize an internal consciousness. His works explore the autistic condition, symbolized through the figure of the Blue Cat, trying to express themes such as perception, isolation and acute sensitivity. Emotions of tension, attention, introspection and resistance pervade his work, a resistant art form that speaks to those who feel out of step with the world.
