After six years of learning and working with ceramic materials, I marked this creative journey with the exhibition Genesis, presenting 32 works from the Voices series and 5 works from the Samsara series. Rather than being completed in the studio, this artwork, The Voice 34, was brought to life during the exhibition as a participatory work — visitors were invited to leave their signatures, symbols, and drawings directly onto the sculpture's surface… before the final glazing. The glaze then sealed these traces within the finished work, transforming individual gestures into a collective layer of meaning. The artist provided the concept and form, while hundreds of visitors contributed to shaping the final artwork — blurring the boundary between creator and audience. *Echo 34* embodies the spirit of transmission and stands as a tribute to all who participated in its making.
Born into a Vietnamese artistic lineage, Thuy Nguyen engages with mono prints, polygonal paintings, and ceramics. Utilizing an abstract approach, she combines intense pigmentation with intricate geometric forms, traversing both the traditional canvas and the digital realm to stage her exploration. Her work, a kaleidoscopic fusion of shapes and colors, pulses with the complexities of human identity and the quest for harmony with the natural world. Through her polygonal portraits, she reveals a riveting chronicle of emotions, reflecting the enduring spirit encapsulated in our continually evolving selves.
