About this artwork
This work captures a moment of childish thought in impressive black and white technique.
Two children, deeply immersed in their own worlds, sit next to each other on a bench – their gazes concentrated, their posture full of thoughtfulness.
Through the technique of charcoal on paper or the reduction of the depiction to black and white, the emotions of the two young characters are reduced to the essentials.
The work is painted on paper, which in… turn was finished on canvas and finally stretched on a stretcher frame. This special technique gives the picture an interesting surface texture and structure, which further enhances the depth of the depiction. The fine shading and detailed lines express the intensity of the feelings and the interplay of closeness and individuality in a remarkable way and invite the viewer to immerse themselves in the quiet, innocent world of childhood.
