About this artwork
A muddy path leads the viewer into a densely snow-covered forest. Silence reigns, except for the crunch of snow underfoot. The snow lends the forest a rich, atmospheric quality.
With flat colors and increasingly thicker paint application, culminating in impasto painting in the foreground, this depicts the forest of my childhood when it still snowed a lot at Christmas.
