About this artwork
I often take walks here when I'm at the Baltic Sea: In a small village, this path leads through pastures and meadows to the sea. At the beginning of spring, I took some photos and was captivated by this motif. The trees point in one direction, the fence posts in the other – the sun colors the branches and twigs of the trees, light catches last year's grass. In the distance, the landscape appears to be tinged with a soft blue, and the fresh meadows…

I painted this picture on a self-primed wooden panel using two coats of oil paint. The second coat is a vibrant glaze. I painted the branches and grass with a very long, fine tugboat brush. This painting brings the power of the spring sun into any room and allows for a glimpse into the distance.
