About this artwork
During a trip to Strasbourg, I was captivated by the narrow streets, old houses, and the diverse forms of the buildings, gates, and doors. When the moon appeared in the evening, I took some photos with my smartphone. Based on these photos, I then painted two oil paintings. This is the larger one. I love the halos of light from the streetlights and the moon. This creates different hues in every corner of the houses. At 18 x 18 cm, it's small but very…
intense! I painted it on loose canvas and, after it dried, framed it with a passe-partout in a solid silver wooden frame. The oil painting conveys a sense of calm, vastness, and the peaceful atmosphere of the moon.
