About this artwork
This picture captures the vibrant vibrancy of a June day in my garden. That's where I set up my easel. The orange-red poppy flowers are in the center, harmoniously framed by the pink-violet and dark red columbines. The fresh, light green leaves form the lively background and enhance the color intensity of the flowers.
The play of light around the shapes of the poppies and columbines brings every detail to life, makes the scene seem almost like a… dance and gives the picture a special dynamic. I applied the oil paint with pasty, expressive brushstrokes, creating shadows that give the composition depth and movement.
The canvas is hand-stretched, primed four times and has painted edges so that the work can be hung without additional framing. A steel wire ensures secure hanging. My signature is on the front.
