About this artwork
Existing without fully revealing. Form suspended between shadow and light.
In this work, I explore the space between presence and absence. The figure emerges only partially, inviting the viewer to engage with what remains unseen. Rather than offering a fixed narrative, the composition leaves room for personal interpretation, allowing meaning to develop gradually over time.
Executed through carefully layered tones and subtle contrasts, the drawing… balances precision with ambiguity. Inspired by the visual language of fashion photography, it captures a moment that feels both intimate and distant, familiar yet unresolved.
As with much of my work, I am interested in creating images that continue to reveal themselves long after the first encounter. This piece is intended not only to be viewed, but to be lived with; an artwork whose atmosphere and emotional resonance evolve with time. Like the most compelling stories, it does not reveal everything at once.

Veronica Colanero worked as a fashion designer in Italy and London, an experience that strongly shaped her artistic vision. Today, she is a full-time artist based near Paris, working primarily with graphite, charcoal, and Pierre Noire. Her hyperrealist drawings isolate figures, objects, or fragments, transforming them into poetic studies of beauty, identity, and memory. Whether through a view, a gesture, or an everyday object, her works explore the fine line between surface and depth, appearance and emotion. Blending precision with sensitivity, Veronica creates pieces that feel both intimate and timeless, inviting viewers into a quiet space of reflection and resonance.
