Oil on canvas. Diptych. Two 50 × 50 cm canvases. The work is built on the contrast between warm terracotta and orange hues and cooler grey-blue and violet tones. Layered oil paint, textured surfaces, and expressive brushwork merge the figurative image with abstract space.
The diptych presents two states of the same image. In the first panel, the cool-toned face contrasts with the intense warmth of its surroundings, suggesting a distance between the… inner state and the outside world. In the second, the external colours enter the figure and become part of it. Fine lines connecting the two panels reinforce this sense of transition and transformation. The work explores the moment when an external experience ceases to remain outside and begins to change us from within.
