About this artwork
Project: "Mirror of the Soul"
In this project, I portray a state of meditation where the individual is completely removed from external distractions, immersed in deep contemplation of the inner world. This moment—when attention is solely focused within, on one’s thoughts and feelings—reveals what lies beyond familiar emotions and fleeting experiences. In a meditative state, a person can encounter the truest manifestations of their soul, seeing and… accepting them.
The work also raises questions about the nature of the masks we wear. Who are we in essence when we turn away from society and external expectations? What truth can a person reveal to themselves in a state of deep self-reflection when all superficial layers are cast aside? In trying to answer these questions, I delve into themes of inner unity and harmony.

Kurbanov's compositions also explore loyalty and betrayal, fear and composure, as well as the discrepancies between the inner world and the external image.
