About this artwork
At the time I was investigating light and the phenomena of light and shadow. As a part of this artistic investigation I was creating a series of studies depicting the movement of shadows and play of light, with the tools of painting. However, I was not interested in the mere formalism of the phenomena, but more deeply interested in the metaphysical, ontological aspect of it, indulging in the process of meditation meanwhile the act of painting "Light",… trying to grasp and unveil the metaphysical connection between Light and Creation, Light and God, and Light and the Soul, by also trying to understand the true essence and nature of Light. Since, a condition of the existence of our material world as we know it, is the duality of Light and Shadow, or Good and Evil, but maybe these two are just 2 facets of a greater quality, and just play together in the hand of God, just like the shadows of tree leaves move playfully, projected (by natural daylight) onto the wall of a painter's studio.
Zsuzsa Sztruhár, a Hungarian fine artist and composer, employs a diverse range of mediums, from painting to sound and kinetic sculpture. Her dynamic applications of metaphysical and ontological conceptualism, blended with traditional painting and sound installation, underscore her technique. Each piece of work, whether it's an interactive sound instrument or an audiovisual installation, encapsulates a tangible heterogeneity. Sztruhár's works embody a mysterious borderline between fine arts and music, stirring emotions associated with the complexity of life's spiritual journey and the poignant beauty of the universe.
