About this artwork
"Toro de Borrel" is a work created on Montesanto paper, through the skillful use of charcoal, sanguine, sepia and white chalk. The scene depicted evokes with archaic intensity a moment of prehistoric hunting, in which the figure of the bull emerges with primordial force, surrounded by signs and symbols that recall the totemic universe of ancestral civilizations. The pictorial gesture, essential but powerfully evocative, refers to a lost ritual, where… art and survival merge in a single expressive act. The stylised human figures, dancing and armed, seem to invoke a sacred balance between man and nature, evoking the collective memory of the origins. In this work, time dissolves and we find ourselves immersed in a universal narrative, imprinted on the surface like a fragment of myth.
« The painting of the future was born in caves, since art has always been the most fascinating medium with which matter depicts the spirit. »
