This painting was created from life during my studies at the Repin Academy of Fine Arts, in the class of Professor Vladimir Pesikov.
It is now part of the Academy’s collection and was commended by the Academy Council for its artistic merit.

Her strength and self-assurance are expressed through the subtle tilt of her head and the calm precision of her features.
Through light and texture, the viewer can sense… her inner power and presence serene yet unshakable.

Born in an artistic family, Varvara Efimova merges her 13-year academic training in fine arts with contemporary stylistic elements. Employing personal mixed techniques that include delicate transparency and thick expressive layers of oil paint, her works appear as visual poetry, infusing unexpected color combinations and emphasizing the atmosphere over imagery. Through her exploration of emotional states and metaphoric usage of nature, Efimova beautifully captures the subtle tension between vulnerability and strength.
