A tree’s shadow stretches before us, yet the tree itself remains unseen. We can only guess at its form and size from the traces it leaves — but are these contours true?
Cast by the low sun, the shadow elongates and flows like an ancient script, a forgotten language. Its shapes resemble hieroglyphs, messages in which the very essence of nature might be hidden. We gaze — and wonder.
A shadow never sees the light. It may be a sinister abyss from which… our fears crawl… or a quiet refuge — gentle and soundless. Perhaps it is a mirror of ourselves. But do we recognize our reflection in it? Or do shadows live their own lives — free, separate, and entirely unaware of us?

Born in an artistic family, Varvara Efimova merges her 13-year academic training in fine arts with contemporary stylistic elements.
