About this artwork
“Evening Serenity on Kolachevsky Street” - this watercolor captures the atmosphere of evening tranquility in Kryvyi Rih. Graceful silhouettes of trees dissolved in soft shades of the sunset create a meditative mood. The play of light and shadow adds depth, and blurred contours emphasize the ephemerality of the moment. The painting is filled with the quiet harmony of nature, frozen in the rays of the fading day.
In this painting, I've blended the… ephemeral qualities of watercolor with the textured nuances of impressionism and realism to encapsulate a tranquil evening. The scene captures a sunset smeared across the sky, casting warm tints and elongated shadows. Silhouettes of trees and birds, symbols of enduring resilience and freedom, invite reflection. This artwork is my introspection on the serenity and fleeting moments of day's end, offering a sense of peace and continuity in your space.
Bogdan Shiptenko is a contemporary Ukrainian artist born in 1994 in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine. He works primarily with watercolor, acrylic, and graphic media, focusing on figurative painting and urban themes. He holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts and has over 15 years of professional artistic practice, with more than 10 years of international sales.
Shiptenko’s work explores the relationship between people and the urban environment — architecture, streets, cafés, and the everyday rhythm of city life. His distinctive style combines expressive watercolor and dynamic multi-figure compositions, capturing both the energy of crowds and moments of quiet solitude.
A central part of his practice is the long-term series People on the White, which reflects on contemporary urban society, human routines and overconsumption set against minimalist white backgrounds. Bogdan Shiptenko has participated in numerous exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad, his works are held in private collections worldwide.
