About this artwork
"Im Forever Blowing Bubbles"
One of a series of images taken in 2019 in Ballybunion, county Kerry, Ireland. I decided to create a piece of Art with the Active Retired Group and that in doing so, will maybe end the stereotyping of older people and make the community more aware of how much more there is to people once they have retired, taking time to engage and be inspired by there wisdom. I've merged the whimsy of pop art with the depth of surrealism,… using acrylics and resin to encapsulate the fleeting joy of moments caught in bubbles. Each bubble captures a tiny, perfect universe; some hold vibrant butterflies, symbolizing transformation and fleeting beauty, while others reflect serene skies and mystical landscapes, inviting viewers to ponder the ephemeral nature of life and joy. This artwork is designed to bring a burst of light-hearted energy and a reminder of the beauty in transient moments to any space it inhabits.
