About this artwork
"STILL HAVING THE CRAIC"
In creating this Artwork, I poured my fascination with the juxtaposition of youth and age into every stroke. Using acrylics, spray, and resin on a textured urban backdrop, I captured the irrepressible spirit of playfulness against societal expectations. The artwork is a vibrant testament to living life fully, never dimming your exuberance, no matter the years. It's a reminder that joy doesn't adhere to age, and the energy… it brings to any space is as compelling and infectious as the laughter of youth. "STILL HAVING THE CRAIC" is one of a series of images taken in 2019 in Ballybunion, county Kerry, Ireland. I decided to create a piece of Art with the Active Retired Group and that in doing so, will maybe end the stereotyping of older people and make the community more aware of how much more there is to people once they have retired, taking time to engage and be inspired by there wisdom.
« My creative process is always evolving, I am constantly intrigued by the endless possibilities of creating with digital technology fused with the real world materials of Canvas, paper, paint and other materials. »
David Morrison, a seasoned visual artist, adeptly integrates photography, digital manipulation, and various materials in his work. Infusing real-world elements with digital technology, he alters light, tones, and colors, using software like a paintbrush while adding tangible materials for depth. His art, a harmonious blend of surrealism, pop art and contemporary, radiates an emotional connection to nature, capturing the viewer into its fantastic narratives. Above all, my Art does not have to be understood to be enjoyed.
