About this artwork
Embers Beneath Stone is part of my Luminous Fractures series, which explores how moments of pressure, fracture, and concealment can hold quiet warmth and resilience beneath the surface. I’m interested in what remains hidden — the slow, internal processes that continue even when everything appears still or hardened.
This work was created through an intuitive acrylic pouring process, allowing gravity and fluid movement to shape the composition over… time. Layers of deep tones and mineral hues shift and collide, suggesting weight, compression, and depth. Subtle highlights move through the surface like heat held within rock, hinting at energy that has not been extinguished, only contained.
For me, this piece reflects the idea that endurance is not always visible. Embers Beneath Stone invites the viewer to consider what may still be glowing quietly beneath layers of protection, silence, or pressure.
I am an Australian multidisciplinary artist working across digital and physical mediums, drawing on a background in visual arts, applied arts, and professional makeup artistry. My practice is grounded in fluid, process-driven techniques—particularly resin and acrylic paint pouring—where I balance structure with spontaneity to create richly layered abstractions influenced by digital texture mapping and typography. Through texture, movement, and intuition, my work invites viewers into meditative spaces that explore vulnerability, memory, and transformation through quiet emotional resonance.
