About this artwork
In the spirit of Piet Mondrian's geometric abstraction, I endeavored to articulate my profound distress regarding the inequities inherent in Georgia's electoral process and the profound injustice unveiled in Greg Palast's film, "Vigilante." This artwork, aptly titled "Georgia-Inequality in Elections," seeks to transcend mere words.
The small blue streaks and droplets symbolize the fragile hope of democracy, beautifully juxtaposed against the stark… backdrop of structural inequality. The work attempts to encapsulate the anguish and frustration that bubble within me upon witnessing the injustices laid bare in the film.
The blind rage of prejudice, expressed in its most grotesque forms through these electoral disparities, remains an enigma that defies understanding. It ignites an indescribable fervor within me when I attempt to vocalize my thoughts. I employ acrylic and latex paint on a 40" x 30" crescent board embellishing it with heavy purposeful mark-making.
Jaye Alison Moscariello harnesses water-based mediums like acrylic and watercolor, influenced by a creative upbringing and artistic journey. Through abstraction and intuitive color selection, she captures the interplay between forms, with lines that articulate deep-seated emotions. Her art resonates with joy and upliftment, transforming personal and worldly complexities into visual harmony.
