About this artwork
How would Paris look, during springtime rains? Immersed in her memories of her grandmother's fabrics, she wandered into the thoughts about the countries from whence they came. This particular piece is the artist wandering back through memories of both her grandmother, Mamie, and also the early ideas as well as actual experiences she had of France. The flower lined boulevards that meandered along parks, rainy parks. The artist was captivated by both… the fabrics that Mamie chose, their textures and exquisite colors, recalling how she would love to touch them and examine the beauty of the patterns which coincidentally were largely abstracted florals and interesting geometric shapes. This painting also expresses the great love she had for her grandmother, Mamie, who was a very creative artist/performer.
