About this artwork
The painting is painted out of the dark and held in shades of blue-gray-black and magenta tones. This makes the painting look very mystical. The bright spots in Rose seem to come out of the darkness and one is inclined to believe that they want to pull the viewer into the picture. The work of art is framed in black in a floater frame made of wood. The frame can be removed at any time.

Katja Gramann is a German artist whose painting follows the tradition of Art Informel. All of her works are consistently abstract. Her works have been exhibited in Germany in numerous solo and group events. Katja Gramann has also been successfully represented by a gallery in Belgium since 2022. Her participation in a summer exhibition at the Royal Academy of Art in London in 2022 also brought her international recognition. The artist pursues three styles in her painting: acrylic painting, mixed media (using ash, pigments, rock flour, charcoal, rust, and paper), and abstract collages made of fine Chinese paper, which Gramann colors herself, dries, and then arranges into a painting in a multi-layered process. Since 2021, Katja Gramann has been teaching painting at independent art academies in Vienna, Kolbermoor, and Bad Heilbrunn.
