About this artwork
As my friends and I travel along one of my favorite roads in the Canadian Rockies, I initially feel uninspired. The light is flat, rain is falling, and the outside temperature is damp and cold. When we arrive at a lake, I step out of the car and take a moment to breathe deeply, appreciating the intimate moments unfolding around me. As I clear my mind and listen to the rain, I begin to feel inspired by the abstract reflections in the pond. The raindrops…
create a striking contrast against the snow on the mountains, which is beautifully reflected in the almost still water. In capturing this moment, I aim to express the quiet power of stillness. The artwork has a soothing, contemplative feel, reminding us to find peace in the subtle movements of life.
