About this artwork
In my collage BRICKS | 3|5, I explore the relationship between stability and instability. The upright, partially tilted bricks are reminiscent of a row of dominoes – a system that appears stable at first glance but can be set in motion at any moment. By lying horizontally across two of the bricks, I become part of this construction myself.
I am interested in the moment between stillness and potential collapse. The body of a woman sleeping between… two widely spaced bricks simultaneously functions as a connecting element and as a potential trigger for an imbalance.
Against the black background, the bricks appear as isolated structures in space. This focuses the eye on the fragile balance of the individual elements.
