About this artwork
In my collage BRICKS | 4|5, I explore the relationship between human vulnerability and massive, seemingly immovable structures. The stacked bricks form a heavy, monumental construction that symbolizes both stability and pressure, as well as confinement. Within this structure, a female figure lies wedged between two bricks, appearing defenseless and vulnerable. The man on the top stack of bricks carries the woman on his shoulders, representing an…
attempt to reach and free the trapped person. This creates a moment of tension between threat and hope: while the bricks represent an oppressive, rigid order, the man's gesture stands for empathy, action, and resistance against this structure.
