About this artwork
In my collage BRICKS | 5|5, I capture a moment of intervention. Of the five light-colored bricks in the image, four are already tilting to the right. The silhouettes of two men are visible, one of whom, carried on the shoulders of the other, intends to use his position to actively push the row of bricks aside. For me, this creates an image of collective action and deliberate intervention. The reduction of the scene to a few elements—black space,…
stone bodies, and the men—focuses the viewer's attention on this crucial moment of triggering. I am particularly interested in how collective action can destabilize structures and how a single act can be enough to set a whole series of changes in motion.
