About this artwork
"Pinky" is a female figure that evokes, for some, the elegance of the 1960s; for others, she may even recall First Lady Jackie Kennedy.
Honest confession: I didn't think about her at all when I painted her.
For me, Pinky represents an elegant and dignified woman, a timeless figure who embodies the strength of conscious femininity. She's the symbol of women who know where they come from and where they're going—women with presence, purpose, and… self-esteem.
She has no age, but she does have a status of respect that comes, above all, from herself to herself.
The works in this series are composed of two layers: an oil-on-canvas base and a second layer of transparent Plexiglas interspersed with strokes of black oil. This technique creates a subtle visual tension between depth and surface, reinforcing the complexity of their ambiguous yet powerful identity.
Goldstein, trained in graphic design and painting, uses personal, minimalist techniques that result in distinctive textures and colors. Through a series of brushstrokes, rollers, and his own hand, he creates expressionist works that play with shadows and challenge visual perception. The emotions captured on each canvas reveal his journey through identity, encouraging the viewer to feel, rather than understand, his deeply personal art.
