About this artwork
This “gold-submerged coloring” method, scatters gold powder into wet translucent mineral pigments. The gold sinks and glows from within, half-hidden, half-revealed, turning the painting into living light. The result feels both ancient and modern: ink-wash mist meets metallic luminosity.
Upper left: soft white clouds edged in gold drift across a pale green sky.
Lower left: a deep indigo pool stretches wide with countless tiny gold flecks—sunlight… on rippling spring, or autumn leaves drifting into the depths.
Center: a lone pine branch, reaches out as if anchoring the floating world.
Upper right: the mist thickens again, veiling distant peaks.
Lower right: golden rock formation catches the last light. On its ledge sits the tiny blue-robed scholar.
