About this artwork
News reports and images of Ukrainians returning to their homeland inspired my painting "Back Home." The vibrant reds of the sky and the dilapidated houses symbolize the devastated homeland they encountered upon their return. Echoing the national colors of Ukraine, the sky gradually turns blue, and the landscape is continuously swirled with yellow from the horizon. The sides of the painting are also painted, allowing it to be hung without the frame. The painting is signed on the back and ready to hang.

Peter Stahr works as a painter and digital artist with a background in painting, media art, and web design, having completed his art studies in Braunschweig. He prefers acrylic and mixed media on large canvases, combining pigments, dispersions, earths, and other materials to create complex, profound works that oscillate between abstraction and representation. His abstract seascapes convey longing, inner peace, wanderlust, and hope, inviting the viewer on emotional journeys of discovery to places of personal longing.
